Joe took us on his "nostalgia tour" around his childhood home of Muncie, including seeing his Grandma Kronz's home where he spent much time, as well as his favorite donut store: Concannon's. Of course, we had to partake (just to help him feel right at home) and thought we'd include this photo for you to salivate over.
Last night, we enjoyed a hearty mid-west welcome from extended family including aunts, uncles, and more cousins than my kids knew was a possibility (Joe's mom is the oldest of 6 -- and all of them with kids and/or grandkids -- dropped in at one point yesterday evening to say hello and give hugs all around). The laughter was sweet and the voices grew loud as the familiar topic of politics brought all the men to their full stature of convictions! Josiah is now old enough and feeling capable enough to join in the conversation on occasion.
Today, we will head out to do some sight seeing -- hoping to see a model airplane museum (Josiah's pick), go to a large coin shop (Isaac and Joe's pick), and go antique shopping in Farmland (Isabelle's and my pick).
We enjoyed a delightful morning-afternoon out as a family exploring historic farmland, looking through antique stores, going to a huge coin shop named "Silvertown", enjoying lunch at a local family-owned diner (the Chocolate Moose -- fantastic homemade potato chips!), and looking through the National Model Aeronautics Museum (quite well done and very extensive for those who love model airplanes).
The sign on the door going into the coin shop filled with silver and gold :-)
One of the quaint stores in farmland hosted a huge assortment of candy. We each got to pick a favorite. (I'm going to need to diet after this trip!)
Loving all the posts! Looks like y'all are having a fantastic time!
