Day 3 -- Postscript

We've been in three states today. The trees are just leafing out with far stretches of yellowish green landscape and fields all around. On the sides of rolling hills, I see small cemeteries every few miles resting gently down the sloping hills. The few farmsteads, so neat and tidy, seem somewhat lonely in their solitary landscape. These wide open spaces are so beautiful ... only lacking the boundaries that mountain ranges in the distance can give.
It has been a sweet day of driving as we've listened to the audio drama of the "Hiding Place" -- this story grows more powerful in my heart and mind with each reading. We are heading to a state park in Missouri, hoping for a quiet place to spend the night prior to our push tomorrow toward the Lincoln walk and the Presidential library. Until tomorrow ....
