Waking up in Nebraska, the bird sounds are already different. At our home in Idaho, we now have many pairs of nesting mourning doves, so the familiar ‘coo, coocoo’ was noticeable; however, there are many new calls I don’t recognize and I’m anxious to get a good peek out the window. Isabelle has never seen the colorful birds found on the eastern half of the country. I am already anticipating her look of wonder after seeing her first cardinal, blue jay, and oriole.
I believe we all slept better last night, in spite of the distant train whistle which blew every 30 minutes. We are in Ogallala, Nebraska and just waking up. Our RV routine is becoming established as we arise, read our Bibles, get ready and tidy our “home” each morning. This is Resurrection Sunday and we will worship alone as a family in our little ‘living room’ prior to heading out of town. I spent over an hour on the net yesterday looking for churches that perhaps we could visit. Church history is fascinating to me and it was interesting to see that in this part of the nation, there is a larger proportion of Wesleyan and Lutheran churches than any other denomination. Whereas on the West Coast, you’ll find quite a few of the mega evangelical churches -- known most predominately by their name choice with no denomination listed (New Hope, Cornerstone, Harvest, Riverside, Journey, Crossroads, The Rock), I’ve only seen a handful of those listed throughout the state here.
We wish you all a blessed Easter -- so thankful for the heritage, legacy, prayers, and sacrifice on the part of our grandparents and parents that we might know wholeheartedly the miracle of new life and the joy of believing in Christ who rose again that we might live. We rejoice with you today!
Happy Resurrection day to you all, too. I am loving this blog already! Do you think you will be making it to Florida? Also, our favorite resource is www.rvparkreviews.com . Oh, and I love your quote for the day today. Have a blessed drive today.
